April 08, 2009 - Msg 4916: I never tire of watching Andy Griffith re-runs. They are just as funny now as they were the first time I saw them as a child. No one can match Don Knotts' humor. RIP, Don!! You were a classic in your own right.
April 24, 2009 - Msg 4917: I grew up watching Andy and Don every night. I'm 32 and I still watch them regularly. My children never knew Barney the dinosaur, but they knew and still love Barney Fife. (My youngest is 6.) Thank you for all the laughs. RIP, Don. We will always love you.

A handful in the movie/tv industry,,, and he was one of them. Now that is truely more valuable than anything else. I wish I could have thanked him in person. He is a part of me always. Thank you.

And actually those times never really existed. What we see on TAGS was make believe that made us all wish things were so easy. I respect your opinion, even though you're wrong.
May 31, 2009 - Msg 4928: Don Knotts was an excellent actor and his character Barney Fife is still a joy to watch. However, Mr. Knotts is often confused with the character that he portrayed. He was not Barney Fife. In fact Don Knotts was known to be a womanizer in real life and it's rumored that this is why his first marriage ended. I too love to watch the Andy Griffith show as often as possible, but I agree with message 4927. Don Knotts was just a man that none of us really knew and I believe that much of your admiration may be misplaced.

June 16, 2009 - Msg 4936: my husband and I made it back to Mt. Airy a couple of weeks ago and it was a bittersweet trip-- we saw "the old salt-and-pepper" on display at the museum and were both reduced to tears. The chair Don sat in at the courthouse was there too, bronzed and had the signatures of many, many of the cast and crew on the back. We've watched TAGS every day since we returned. There's nothing like this show, the people who were in it or the people who love it. Don Knotts and Barney have certainly left their mark on the world.

July 15, 2009 - Msg 4946: I was just watching the andy griffith and it hit me of how much he will be missed.I was able to watch him without wondering if my kids should leave the room or fast forward the DVD afraid that there might be a bad scene or something.We can just sit there and laugh. July 17, 2009 - Msg 4949: As a teacher, I often brought in episodes of TAGS to teacher values and morals to my kids. The kids sat transfixed at watching "Man in a Hurry" and when Poie kills the mother birds and has to raise the baby birds. Imagine Grade 8's crying!!!

As a teacher, I often brought in episodes of TAGS to class to teach values and morals to the children. They watched "Man in a Hurry" and taught then that money isn't everything and the episode where Opie has to raise baby birds when he accidentally kills the mother bird. And, yes, some of the Grade 8's did cry!!
