August 04, 2007 - Msg 4724: I have all of the black and whites on dvd. It is my favorite sitcom and I watch all the time. My husband and I got to visit Mt Airy this year on vacation. We were on vacation for 16 days and that day was the best of the entire trip!!! I never met Don Knotts but I love him. I have all of his movies and will miss him terribly. But, I show the sitcom and the movies to my grandkids. Thank God there is still something for them to watch!!!

I wish I could personally thank all of those who played a part in the making of TAGS for the morals and values they helped to teach us. My 15 yr old son has also grown up watching TAGS and I've never had to worry about what he might see while watching the show. What a testiment to the makers of this wonderful show.

I too wish I had lived in a town like Mayberry when I was a young child. I always loved the friendship and love that Andy and Barney showed for each other. I will miss you Barney (Don Knotts). I even loved your movies. The Ghost & Mr. Chicken is one of my favorites and the line I still laugh at to this day..."That aboy Luther". Rest in Peace. October 20, 2007 - Msg 4746: I just love the Andy Griffith show! If I have a bad day at work, the show lightens my spirits and I can once again laugh and forget about having that bad day! I watch the show everynight after work and when it's not on tv, I put in a DVD of Andy and watch the shows. Don was the greatest! It's a show I don't think could ever be replaced. With Andy, they became a great pair which gave the viewers a great show to view now and forever!
October 20, 2007 - Msg 4747: My son Bill just loves The Andy Grifith Show! He had sent me DVD's for christmas one year and he still watches them to cheer him up. He is stationed in Germany in the Army and was in Afganistan, in the Army. So, when he had some free time, that is what he would be watching. He just loves the show as much as I do and is always trying to find out more about Andy. He wanted to see Don before he passed away, but was unable to. Right now he is lookng to see Andy while he is home around Christmas time, then he'll go back to GERMANY. If you have an address or link we could go see him it would be so appreciated!

November 21, 2007 - Msg 4754: It's hard to put into words how much I love The Andy Griffith Show. In my mind and in my heart Maryberry is NOT fiction, but as real as any other town in America. People say I'm crazy but I don't care. My biggest hope in life is to spend three days in lock up. Aunt Bee's fried chicken and apple pie, Andy's songs and Barny trying to be tough!!! It doesn't get any better than that. Thank you Don and all for some very precious memories. Your are sadely missed.

November 29, 2007 - Msg 4756: I don't even know where to begin about the greatest show ever on tv. I watch it everday. I have the whole collection on DVD. And even with all that I still find my self laughing ever time I watch an episode or even crying some times. I consider Don Knotts one of the greatest comedians of all times. I also have a large collection of shirts with Barney on them as well as license plate for my car. We even named our little dog in memory of Barney. (He's little but he's wirey). My family also gets together every Christmas to play Andy trivia. Again thank you Barney for some of the best memories I have ever had and continue to have. You are truly missed.

Barney lived to make us laugh. I think tears will just not do. I don't believe the "chemistry" we saw between Andy and Barney has been, or will ever be duplicated. My children love the show as much as I do, when we are having TV time, and nothing else is on, which is often, we just put in an Andy and everyone is happy. It is without a doubt the best show ever. April 29, 2008 - Msg 4801: i have seen every episode of TAGS. my son is 3 years old and cannot wait to get him interested in the show. right now he is interested in scooby doo more. don knotts did a voice-over during the scooby doo movies in 1973. he was a character in a spooky mansion that kept changing his looks via make up and costumes to fool scooby and the gang. my son was watching this with my wife, (unfortunately, i was at work) during the show my son, who kept calling him "Don Nuts", ran into the kitchen grabbed peanut butter out of the fridge and smeared it with his hand all over his face, hair, arms, knees...he came back into the living room where my wife was on the couch and my wife see's him covered in peanut butter and asks why he did this. my son replied he was trying to make skin like Don Nut...my wife says, you mean Don Knotts, no he says, Don Nut! .......My son cannot pronounce Knotts yet, but he is already being entertained by a true comedic legend...thank you for your work and your continuing humor as you look down upon us...thanks Don and your family.

Those two really know how to lift one's spirits and make you laugh! One of my favorite episodes is the one where Opie starts running around with a new kid in town and Barney delivers his famous "Nip it in the bud!" speech. I'm laughing right now just thinking about it. What a great time in television and American history it was to be a part of Mayberry.

Their problems on the show were real, but people dealt with them in honest, common-sense ways. Where is that today? If only we had more parents like Andy, more friends like Barney, more aunts like Bea, more sons like Opie, and more citizens like those in Mayberry. I think this country would be a much better place.

July 14, 2008 - Msg 4835: I'm 50, and I can't watch Barney and not crack up!! Now I only watch the shows that have him in it. When they're on now, I only watch the b/w shows. The color leaves a lot to be desired.
